How it works

  1. 1

    Load A and B

A is the original, B is the revised version — drop or pick each file.

  2. 2

    Choose how to compare

Text finds wording changes; visual finds anything that looks different.

  3. 3

    Review page by page

Jump between pages, read the counts, and export the text diff as a report.

Your privacy is the point

This tool runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly and Canvas. Your file is never uploaded to a server, never stored and never seen by anyone but you.

Frequently asked questions

Can I compare scanned PDFs?+

Visual comparison works on any PDF because it compares rendered pixels. Text comparison needs an embedded text layer — for a scan, run OCR first or stay in visual mode.

Why does a page look identical but still show differences?+

The files may have been re-saved with different image compression or a different producer, which changes individual pixels. Pages are compared at up to 900 px wide, so very faint anti-aliasing differences can register.

Are the PDFs uploaded to compare them?+

No. Both files are read by your browser, rendered on canvases and compared in memory. Nothing is sent anywhere, and closing the tab clears it.
