PDF to Excel
Pull the tables out of a PDF into a real .xlsx workbook. Lines are grouped into rows by their vertical position and into columns by where they start — one sheet per page, or everything stacked in a single sheet.
How it works
- 1
Add your PDF
Drop the file and unlock it if it is password protected.
- 2
Choose pages and layout
Set a page range, the minimum table size, and one sheet per page or a single sheet.
- 3
Save the .xlsx
Numbers stay as text, so leading zeros survive the trip.
Your privacy is the point
This tool runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly and Canvas. Your file is never uploaded to a server, never stored and never seen by anyone but you.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the table detection?+
It is geometric, not intelligent: rows come from lines that share a vertical position, and columns from recurring horizontal starting points. Simple tables work well; merged cells, multi-line cells and borderless layouts can end up in the wrong column, so check the result.
Why did it export plain rows instead of a table?+
When fewer than two columns or fewer rows than your minimum are found, the page has no table-like structure. Rather than inventing columns, the rows are written as one column of text so nothing is lost.
My PDF is a scan — can this tool read it?+
No. A scan contains no text layer, so there is nothing to group. Run the OCR tool first, then extract the tables from the searchable PDF it produces.
